Effective January 2014, the highly successful AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program will cease to deliver training on a “regional basis;” however will be moving to a dynamic new training delivery system. The new training delivery system calls for all course programs included on the website below be hosted by local, regional, state and tribal law enforcement training academies, and agencies or organizations interested in hosting training. Through these partnerships, training academies and agencies will host one or more of the training programs (or select the “build-a-course” option). What will not change is the caliber and quality of training programs and instructors offered to law enforcement agencies, public safety agencies and non-profit organizations.
Our mission remains the same, to safely recover missing, endangered, or abducted children through the coordinated efforts of law enforcement, media, transportation, and other partners by using training and technology to enhance response capacities and capabilities and increase public participation. We encourage you to collaborate with your law enforcement, public safety, non-profit partners to identify your training needs and complete the online technical assistance request form<http://www.fvtc.edu/apps/EventForms/Public/EventRegistration.aspx?FormID=265> to bring training to your community. Direct cost of the training delivery (instructors expenses, training material and logistics support) remain the responsibility of the AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program. Hosting agencies or organizations will be requested to assist in marketing and outreach, providing an appropriate venue, and onsite coordination.
