EVOC.jpgTechnology now affords offenders greater access to sites that provide information and access to multiple potential child victims. Offenders use online ad sites, such as Backpage and Craigslist, to target children who provide information making them vulnerable to online grooming or seduction leading to face-to-face meetings.

Upon completion of this training, participants will:

  • Understand how online ads are being used to exploit children;
  • Be able to investigate online ad posts;
  • Know how to post ads as part of a proactive investigation;
  • Understand some advanced methods used for identifying a suspect.

Prerequisite:
Students must have an active ICACCOPS account.

Eligibility:
This course is open to state, local and federal law enforcement investigators who are members of a Regional ICAC Task Force or Affiliate Agency.

Course Length: 3 days
